​At FAT COW SOAP, our mission is to create high-quality, natural tallow soaps that cleanse the skin without harsh  ingredients, while honoring the earth and supporting sustainable practices. Our core values include:​

Meet the 
Soap Maker

Hi, I'm Becky, a lifelong cattle farmer and the proud owner/operator of Ember Cattle Company, a regenerative cattle grazing operation located in Virginia and now also a soap maker! ​

 

My soap story began at the age of eight when I struggled with persistent skin issues. Ultra-processed foods and a genetic predisposition to acne plagued me for many years. Driven to find relief, I tried every OTC creams, toners, scrubs, cleansers with no success. Dermatologists prescribed me with different antibiotics, retinol creams, and even Accutane, but none of these solutions seemed to help my skin—most made things worse. That's when I decided to turn to more natural products for answers.

 After years of subjecting my skin to decades of middle of the day sun,  countless OTC products, and synthetic derived prescriptions, I discovered my skin was calling me to take on a less harsh, overwhelming  skincare routine and be a little more gentle with it. Coupled with a diet of natural foods and giving my skin time to heal, I found that keeping things simple works best! This is when FAT COW SOAP came to be.

Not only does FAT COW SOAP aim to bring natural, simple, and real tallow soap to your household, but doing this in a sustainable way is a top priority. My lifelong journey in agriculture has instilled in me a deep commitment to ensuring the well-being of  my cattle, the land they graze and my local ecosystems. This path has revealed to me the profound interconnectedness of animal health, human health, and soil health. A healthy body is nourished by robust, nutrient-rich food, which in turn, must originate from fertile, vibrant soil. Just as the food you consume becomes a part of you, so too does what you apply to your skin. While new ways and new technology undoubtedly has its place, there is a timeless wisdom in the old, simpler methods that resonate deeply with our skin and bodies.

This philosophy inspired the creation of FAT COW SOAP, and now, I'm thrilled to share the simplicity of natural and real ingredients in a soap collection with you!
